Crisis Time! Respond to THE CALL!

Unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:5 

In the Biblical quotation cited above from Luke’s Gospel, Jesus had a message which is appropriate for us today: “WE MUST REPENT OR FACE DIVINE JUDGMENT!”

(We have spent years of Alerts cataloging why and how we are currently experiencing God’s Wrath; please see our extensive archives if you want to refresh your understanding of this.)   

The question at hand is not “whether” we are in an hour of CRISIS. The proper question is “What can we do about it?”

Fortunately, many Brethren have come together and raised up a Biblical answer which they have named THE CALL (See our July 23^rd Alert on this topic).

Why do I believe it is “Biblical”? 

Answers:

1.      It is a Solemn Assembly of REPENTANCE, PRAYER and FASTING (see Joel 2);

2.      IN DESPERATION we will CRY OUT for MERCY (Ps 57:2-3; MT 9:13);

3.      We will PRAISE GOD’S GREATNESS, GLORY and BEAUTY (Jude 24-25);

4.      Understanding the times, we will PRAY for a GREAT AWAKENING and REVIVAL amongst God’s People and the Nation as a whole (2 Chron 7:14)!!

My former colleague, Pierre Bynum, believes:

“Only repentance and faith will open the door for God’s forgiveness, guidance, gracious intervention and healing. God wants to restore a fear of God to America and an awareness of our dependence on Him.”

Pierre Continues:

“Honor Killings”: Coming Your Way!

 “Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.” Gen 4:8 

“The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground.” Gen 4:10

“Honor Killings”?  What is going on? Is this the norm in Islamic cultures? Could this possibly be happening here in America? Can we expect more of this? 

This topic is so bizarre and strange to our ears that I will use excerpts from news articles to explain: 

From Texas:

“Amina Said, 18, and her sister Sarah, 17, smile happily in one widely circulating photo, and Amina is wearing what looks like a sweatshirt bearing the name ‘AMERICAN.’ But their fate may have been the herald of a new, disquieting feature of the American landscape: honor killing. Amina and Sarah were shot dead in Irving, Texas, on New Year’s Day. Police are searching for their father, Yaser Abdel Said, on a warrant for capital murder.”

“The girls’ great aunt, Gail Gartrell, told reporters, ‘This was an honor killing.’” 

“Honor killing, the practice of murdering a female family member who is believed to have sullied the family honor, enjoys widespread acceptance in some areas of the Islamic world.” 

“And to be sure, the Qur’an or Islamic tradition does not sanction honor killing. Muslim spokesmen have hastened, after the recent killing in Canada of another teenage Muslim girl, Aqsa Parvez, by her father to tell the public that honor killing has nothing to do with Islam, but is merely a feature of Islamic culture in some areas. Aqsa Parvez was sixteen years old; her father, Muhammad Parvez, has been charged with strangling her to death because she refused to wear the hijab.”

From Ontario, Canada:

“The nightmare of sharia is alive in Canada. Shame, shame, shame:”

“A Mississauga, Ont. man will be formally charged on Tuesday with murder in connection with the death of his 16-year-old daughter.”

“The girl, Aqsa Parvez, was in critical condition on Monday after being strangled, apparently after a dispute with her family over her refusal to wear the hijab, the Islamic headscarf worn by some Muslim women.”

“However Peel Regional Police said Tuesday the girl died late Monday night.”

From Georgia:

“A Clayton County man was behind bars Sunday, accused of killing his own daughter. Police said the father was angry because he felt his daughter was disgracing the family.”

“Investigators said 54-year-old Chaudhry Rashad was so outraged at his daughter, Sandela Kanwal, and her plans for divorce that he killed her after a heated argument at the family's home. Investigators said Rashad confessed to strangling the 25-year-old woman.”

From England:

“The 29-year-old Pakistani man had hoped to build an exciting new life when he moved to Britain in 2006 to join the woman he had married secretly after they met and fell in love.”

“Twelve months later he was driven to a narrow and isolated moorland lane in the hills above Halifax, West Yorkshire. As Mr Mehmood knelt in the darkness, the lights of the textile town sparkling in the valley below, he was shot twice in the back and then left to die.”

“His killers were three thugs, hired for murder by a man for whom Mr Mehmood’s marriage represented an affront to family dignity: his wife’s elder brother, Arza Khan.”

“The jury listened to a tale of secrets, fear and misery, born of a bullying, patriarchal culture that found no room - even in Britain - for a woman to have a role in determining her own destiny.”

 “Yasmin’s crime lay in defying the family code. She had been promised by her father to her first cousin. Any threat to the fulfillment of that contract risked a stain on the family's honour.”

There are others! Are we still to believe Islam is a “religion of peace”? You can be assured very little of this will be told by our major media which seems intent on covering up for Islam and allowing more and more barbaric Muslim practices to take root in America as we go on our merry way.

So, again we ask, “What can I do about this?” Here are some ideas:

1. CARE! Become outraged! Become determined to stop being passive and get engaged! 
2. BECOME INFORMED about Islam. Start by reading the most recent books by Robert Spencer [e.g., The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (And the Crusades), and The Truth About Muhammad (Founder of the World’s Most Intolerant Religion)] and continually check out his website www.jihadwatch.com;
3. WORK and VOTE for candidates(at every governmental level) who understand the signs of the times;
4. TALK to your Pastor, Priest, elders, deacons and get them engaged;
5. ENCOURAGE prayer meetings crying out for our country and REVIVAL, which is OUR ONLY HOPE!  

Our Prayer: 

“Lord, Honor Killings certainly are stark violations of your laws against murder.

“Please intervene wherever abusive men are planning to kill their daughters; Save them! 

“Please EXPOSE this abomination and all others associated with this idolatrous religion.

“Finally, please bring REVIVAL to these people so they can be saved and live righteously. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!”

  Surrender! Or Else! 

 “O, our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 2 Chron 20:12

Regarding the increasing implementation of Sharia law amongst the Muslim communities in the United Kingdom (and elsewhere in the West, including efforts to introduce it here in the USA), Cal Thomas states:

“The most senior judge in England has declared that Islamic legal principles in Sharia law may be used within Muslim communities in Britain to settle marital arguments and regulate finance.”

 “And so the English who gave us the Magna Carta in 1215, William Blackstone and the foundation of American law are slowly succumbing to the dictates of intolerant Islam and sowing seeds of their own destruction.”

Frank Gaffney also comments on the goals of the Islamists:

“At the moment, another totalitarian ideology characterized by techniques and global ambitions strikingly similar to those of yesteryear’s communists is on the march. It goes by varying names: ‘Islamofascism,’ ‘Islamism,’ ‘jihadism’ or ‘radical,’ ‘extremist’ or ‘political Islam.’” 

“Unlike the communists, however, adherents to this ideology are making extraordinary strides in Western societies toward criminalizing those who dare oppose the Islamist end-state - imposition of brutal Shariah Law on Muslims and non-Muslims alike.”

Likewise, we must notice the identical goals of another world-wide group, the radical homosexuals. They, too, want to take over our culture and enforce their perverse worldviews. 

As with the Islamists, the homosexuals can only accomplish this by silencing all opposition, especially those nasty, bigoted Christians. 

Here is Tony Perkins’ report on a symposium (which I attended) on the subject of the California “Marriage” issue and its potential impact on Religious Liberty:

“FRC held a standing-room-only panel discussion this morning about the California same-sex marriage ruling and its effects on religious liberty. Many religious organizations in California and elsewhere are worried about the possible erosion of their First Amendment rights and religious liberty protections.” 

“The panel addressed key issues being asked by religious organizations: Will churches be able to refuse to marry homosexual couples? Will they be able to deny access to their facilities? Will other Christian organizations be able to retain their religious identity and beliefs in light of the court's decision?”  

“The reality is that the religious liberty of Americans is under fire, as evidenced by the loss of tax exempt status for a New Jersey Methodist organization that refused to allow lesbians to have a commitment ceremony at their site, and a lawsuit against a Christian photographer in Arizona who refused to take pictures of a lesbian commitment ceremony, to name just a few examples. The panel also addressed the incidents in Sweden and Canada under their hate speech laws.”

Two weeks ago, I drew attention to the assault being waged against our freedoms of speech and religious liberty (if you missed it, you can read it here). Today, I bring you Part II, sharing insights from fellow conservatives about this attack and the future implications.  

Gary Bauer discloses how the radical left is “furiously working to build a permanent liberal majority”:

“Barack Obama recently sent out a fundraising appeal …in which he wrote, ‘…a new president isn’t enough…big changes don’t happen without big Senate majorities. …This November, we have a chance to create a Democratic Senate majority like we haven’t seen in decades…’”

“Freedom of speech and religious liberty will be curtailed after the expanded liberal majority in Congress passes so-called ‘hate crimes laws’ silencing pastors and pro-family organizations… Our courts will be packed with ACLU radicals, and same-sex ‘marriage’ will be forced on every state in the union by judicial fiat. Christian business and ministries will be forced to hire homosexuals and offer benefits to their ‘married’ partners.”

“Congress now has a ‘Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender Equality Caucus’ comprised of 52 members of the House of Representatives – 50 of the Democrats!”

He also noted how in 2004, “Americans turned out in droves to defend faith, family and freedom…” and, that “The stakes in 2008 aren’t any less than they were in 2004. In fact” he says, “I believe they are even greater!”

Secondly, the Fairness Doctrine (or similar “broadcast localism” regulation), is again on the horizon, threatening to silence conservative views and the free market of ideas. Paul Weyrich comments on an effort to secretly bring back the Fairness Doctrine:

“[E]arlier this month in a public letter to FCC Chairman Kevin J. Martin, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) charged that the [fairness] doctrine was going to be re-imposed secretly upon broadcast media.” 

“Under the rubric of ‘broadcast localism’ it is clear the Commission is proposing no less than a sweeping takeover by Washington bureaucrats of broadcast media.” 

“‘The proposals and recommendations … amount to the stealth enactment of the Fairness Doctrine, a policy designated to squelch the free speech and free expression of specifically targeted audiences,’ wrote Boehner.”

 “One may think that the liberals who dominate other media would be willing to overlook talk radio; they are not…The Democrats want complete control of all media.”

Additionally, consider the words of this Editorial from Investor’s Business Daily –The title of which I borrowed for this Alert, Fairness Despotism:

“There has never been more access to national political discourse. We all enjoy the true fairness of freedom.”

“Yet Speaker Nancy Pelosi would have Uncle Sam again become speech policeman — because in the free market of mass communication, her party’s message is losing.”

“Under a President Obama and Democratic Congress, a Fairness Doctrine could mean all three branches of government, plus the media, would be under the iron-fisted control of big-government, anti-national security liberals.”

Rush Limbaugh, on his June 25^th show stated:

“[T]here is an all-out attempt here to snuff out as much individual liberty as possible…This is going to be a giant grab of federal power, if these people get everything they want in the upcoming election.”

Just last week, David Limbaugh wrote about the threats to our freedoms in “Obama’s Leftist Armies”; here are some excerpts:

“It’s not just Republicans who should be worried… the Obama leftists will purge from the Democratic ranks conservative…Democrats, who are just getting in the way.” 

“What this all means… is that voters need to keep their eye on… Obama’s real leftism -- and its potentially devastating consequences for the country.”

“‘Democrats will be more likely to pass progressive legislation: ending the war’, meaning surrender; providing ‘health care for all Americans,’ meaning poorer quality health care… and bringing about ‘a renewed investment in green energy,’ meaning, to them, a radical assault on our economy in the name of the global warming hoax -- in deference to the pantheistic devaluation of the dignity of human beings that drives it.”

“So let’s not just focus on Obama’s increasingly evident character flaws, but the catastrophic restructuring he likely has in store for this nation and its institutions.”

Once again quoting from Bauer’s 6/25 report:   

“What is your response going to be? To throw your hands up and give up, or to work harder and give more in the fight for our children and grand children’s future?” 

Brethren, what will YOUR response be?

Some Possible Responses:                                      

• REPENT for APATHY and INDIFFERENCE;  Ask God to AWAKEN His people, to REMOVE blinders from eyes (Joel 2:12-14; Ps 146:8, Prov 2:3f);

• SEEK God; ask for His MERCY on our nation and for our children’s futures (Isa 55:6; Ps 69:16; 90:14);

• PARTICIPATE in events that facilitate PRAYER (Ps 9:10; 1 Thess 5:17; Ps 145:18-19); [e.g., THECALL, DC – see details at their website; corporate prayer at your local church; etc., etc., etc.].

  July 4^th: Thanks Be To God!

As we gather for July 4 celebrations, we need to reflect on the purposes and faith (in Jesus) of the Founders of the United States of America.

In this regard, some Congressmen recently gave statements in support of Resolution HR 888: “Affirming the Rich Spiritual and Diverse Religious History of Our Nation’s Founding.”  

Here are some anointed excerpts from several of the Resolution’s sponsors:

1.      From Rep. Trent Franks (R., Arizona):

“President George Washington, on the very same day that Congress finished drafting the first amendment, declared, ‘It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to Obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and to humbly implore His protection and favor.’”

“William Penn, one of our great champions of liberty and founder of what would become Pennsylvania said, ‘Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.’”

“And President Andrew Jackson said, ‘The Bible is the bedrock on which our Republic rests.’”

“[T]oday the secular left often seeks to destroy any vestige of this Nation’s religious heritage in history. They seek not to prevent the establishment of religion, but rather, to relentlessly destroy the free exercise thereof. Indeed, theyare determined to rewrite America’s history, devoid of any mention or trace of the very ideal that gave birth to this Nation in the first place.”

Does God Hate Obama’s Hands?

Recently, I said that Senator Obama and his fellow travelers will destroy our nation if he is elected president. I stated that the policies he advocates, which are wicked, are too numerous to detail in one Alert; therefore, I plan to apportion them in subsequent Alerts.

Here is perhaps his most important and most wicked policy, one which God “HATES” and which The Lord calls an “ABOMINATION”:

ABORTION 

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this matter, abortion involves bloodshed, killing a baby at some stage of his/her development. From the Lord’s perspective:

“For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev 17:11)

So, when an abortion is carried out, the Lord “hates the hands” involved, including the hands which approve of and facilitate it politically (see Rom 1:32).

As a result, God declares He will bring judgment on such a land and especially on the rulers (kings, presidents, magistrates) who promote this abomination:

“The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of bloodshed, and the city full of perversity” (Ezek 9:9a) 

“So you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it.” (Num 35:33)

ENTER BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA! According to Terence Jeffrey:  

“Barack Obama is the most pro-abortion presidential candidate ever.”

“He is so pro-abortion that he refused as an Illinois state senator to support legislation to protect babies who survived late-term abortions because he did not want to concede -- as he explained in a cold-blooded speech on the Illinois Senate floor -- that these babies, fully outside their mothers’ wombs, with their hearts beating and lungs heaving, were in fact ‘persons.’” 

Note the headline: “Most Pro-Abortion Candidate Ever” – given the policies of Bill and Hillary Clinton, that is a profoundly revealing statement.

Also, Pastor Rick Scarborough, the head of Vision America, had the following observations after meeting with the senator:

“Obama’s credibility as a Christian and his views on abortion would be more solid if he based them on Biblical principles. Instead…Obama arrives at his political positions based on a partisan worldview.”

“For Obama, it seems, political correctness on certain social issues, rather that Holy Scripture, is his final authority for faith and practice.”

“Based on the record, one can only conclude that Barack Obama does not adhere to traditional Christianity.”

Why should we care? 

Answer:

1.      Because of the lives Obama enthusiastically consigns to death;

2.      Because God will release greater judgments of His Wrath on us because we chose such a wicked ruler (if you question this, see 2 Kings 21:11-16).

Therefore, it is incumbent on every real Christian to look at Obama’s position on this monumentally important issue and consult your conscience! You, too, will answer to God for your vote! 

How to Pray:

1.      That Christians will awake and care about ABORTION (Eph 5:14);

2.      That Pastors and Priests will be Watchmen and educate themselves and their flocks (Ezek 3:17)!

3.      That God will have MERCY and SAVE us (Is 35:4)

There is an assault on free speech, but you may not have noticed. Perhaps you, like many, have been so immersed in the “politically correct” dialog that saturates the landscape, the “diversity training” offered (or sometimes required) at work and school, and the permeating message of “tolerance” that you’ve missed what’s really happening. If that’s where you find yourself, it is essential that you realize what is at stake. Consider the America your children and grandchildren will inherit.

They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic.” (Excerpt from The Origins of Political Correctness by Bill Lind)

Robert Spencer, in his column The Jihad Against Free Speech addresses this issue: 

“Freedom of speech is in imminent danger. Concerted attacks on it by the jihadist movement are increasing in number…”  

“Spurious charges of ‘Islamophobia,’ and false claims that hate crimes are being committed because of it, are being used to advance an anti-free speech agenda. Americans need to be aware of what’s happening, and resist it at every turn.” 

These same concepts: political correctness, hate crimes and anti-free speech are prevalent in many of society’s causes [e.g., multiculturalism, environmentalism (think global warming), gay rights, pro-choice abortion activists, animal rights groups, etc., etc.]

Islamic Jihad

As discussed in previous alerts (see our archives), jihadists will stop at nothing to see a world where Islam reigns and sharia law is the law of the land. Our government is reluctant to identify the enemy, and has established a “speech code” so as not to offend Muslims. 

The Supreme Court recently ruled that those captured in the War on Terror will have the same rights to habeas corpus as U.S. citizens. (See “It Will Almost Certainly Cause More Americans to Be Killed” for more on this.) 

Schools and businesses are increasingly bending over backward to satisfy Islamic requests and demands. [Just a few examples: Muslim activists: testing the legal and cultural waters; Are American History Texts Promoting Islam?; School Bureaucrats Forcing Muslim Indoctrination On American Kids ]

In his recent column, ‘Is This Our Future?’, Michael Reagan discusses this cultural jihad which is occurring in the western world: 

“The real tragedy lies in the fact that governments all over the western world are not only turning a blind eye to Muslim efforts to establish communities ruled by Sharia …, but are enacting laws that would punish those who place their nation’s traditional interests above those of a foreign faith.”  

“The more you see the Muslim influence coming into the United States the more you are going to see Muslims demanding and getting laws defining the promotion of Christianity to Islamists as a hate crime that will get you tossed in the slammer.” 

“It's called Jihad, and it’s world-wide.” 

For many Americans, jihad, as they’ve come to understand it, involves terrorist attacks such as 9/11, the bombings in London and Madrid, and so on; yet less familiar is the “soft jihad” which is being waged through the culture.
