Amnesty Bill: Will Borders Really Be Enforced?

Amnesty Bill: Will Borders Really Be Enforced?

Do you believe God cares about borders, boundaries, and “landmarks”? Yes, I can say emphatically that He does! In fact, He establishes them all:

“And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings.” (Acts 17:26 – emphasis mine)

Rush Limbaugh on Monday told his audience that conservatives INSTINCTIVELY know there is something absolutely wrong with the Immigration/Amnesty Bill which President Bush, Ted Kennedy and John McCain (strange bedfellows?) are trying to ram through the Senate as fast as they can.

Those who raise legitimate question about the Bill are excoriated as “racists”, “nativists”, “restrictionists”, etc.

I believe Rush is right! Personally I have smelled something terribly wrong about this so-called “compromise” from the outset. So, I have set out to find information for us in order to truly grasp “what’s happening.” In fact, quite a bit is happening which we are not being told!

Today, I will begin to link you to articles written by people I have come to respect. One by one they will open our eyes to some of the sad truths imbedded in the Bill.

One of the most important questions and doubts many people have is – “Will the ‘enforcement’ provisions ever be enforced?” In this regard, I submit to you a column by Cal Thomas who says:

I wish I could believe the president and those senators who claim their agreement on immigration legislation will ‘fix’ the problems of open borders and illegal aliens. I can't, because the public has had no input into the measure.”

“Only after the border is secured, say the senators and White House, will the guest-worker program kick in. Again, I wish I could believe this, but when it comes to immigration, I don't trust either party. It's a safe bet that once the U.S. government legalizes the illegals, many will not abide by the conditions. What then?”

“Many who broke our laws to get here will be allowed to stay. A new immigrant category called the ‘Z Visa’ will be introduced.”

“‘Z Visa’ holders can remain in their ‘Z’ status indefinitely, meaning they never have to pursue a ‘pathway to citizenship.’ They would also be allowed to get Social Security numbers and benefits from some welfare programs.”

“Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh predicted last week that if the Senate draft legislation becomes law ‘there is an 80 percent chance that Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States ... we are doomed in '08.’ He predicted this would be ‘the last straw as far as the Republican base is concerned in being able to trust Republicans that it elects to represent them’”

“The stakes are enormous, for the country and for the future of the Republican Party. It's not worth passing this measure just so both sides can claim ‘victory’, if the victory is a Pyrrhic one. (emphases mine)”

Please take time to read Cal’s very informative column. (See Camouflaged amnesty - Commentary - The Washington Times, America's Newspaper) Cal is a patriotic Christian Conservative.

More to come! Stay tuned! We are fighting for our country!

Time Bombs in Our Midst!

Time Bombs in Our Midst!

Ever since 9/11, we have been focused on terrorists from abroad. However, it seems young American Muslims are being recruited to carry out suicide bombings here in America.

Please read these two articles from the New York Post:

TIME BOMBS IN OUR MIDST

and

A HAIR-RAISING POLL

You’ll find an excerpt from one of them below:

“One out of four young U.S. Muslims believe suicide bombings against innocent civilians are OK to defend Islam, a disturbing new poll revealed yesterday.”

“The most shocking responses came when those surveyed were asked whether suicide bombings and other violence against civilians can be justified ‘in order to defend Islam from its enemies.’”

“Thirteen percent said it can be justified, at least on rare occasions.”

“Among those under age 30, that 13 percent doubled to 26 percent.”

Unfortunately, Mr. President, We Don’t Believe You!

Unfortunately, Mr. President, We Don’t Believe You!

Yesterday, I attended a meeting about the immigration legislation, at which Tony Snow and Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff spoke. They passionately defended the President’s determination to enforce border laws.

The attitude of the conservatives with whom I sat, was more than skeptical – it was total disbelief, based on President Bush’s record to this point.

Here’s an excerpt from an article about this issue which I believe is very balanced:

“But one thing has struck me about the immigration debate that I have found difficult to reconcile with reality: the unquestioning belief by conservatives, who are usually skeptical about the effectiveness of most government-run programs, that this time the bureaucrats can solve our border problem.”

Amnesty? Contact the Elites!

Amnesty? Contact the Elites!

Please take the time to contact either your senator and/or the Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky) asking them to deal effectively with the Immigration/Amnesty Bill. The Elites are trying desperately to legislate this almost in secret.

If you are concerned about terrorists, our borders, the rule of laws, national sovereignty, the size of the welfare state and taxes, and the elections of 2008, please help these Elites hear from you.

Senator McConnell’s contact page is:

www.mcconnell.senate.gov/contact.cfm

The rest of the Senators have websites with the ability to “Contact.”

May the People be heard and their will be done, not the Elites’.

Was Osama Right? Are We That “Weak”?

Was Osama Right? Are We That “Weak”?

"O Lord, let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me" (Ps 120:2)

I am sending you excerpts of an outstanding article by Princeton Professor Bernard Lewis. (You may remember I cited his books in Pastors and Leaders: “Sound the Alarm” – Part II. You can view this in our archives – click here and scroll down). Mr. Lewis’ works are among the best for providing a good understanding of historical and contemporary Islam).

His column is subtitled “Islamists always believed the US was weak. Recent political trends won’t change their views.”

As you will see in both the excerpts below and in the whole column (see article here), he asserts, “If they are right, the consequences – both for Islam and for America – will be deep, wide and lasting(emphasis mine). YIKES!

It seems that the socialist, pacifist, “tolerant” and anti-Christian push for DEFEAT in Iraq and elsewhere will probably result in dire consequences for us. We have become a soft, compromised society and Church, easy pickings for aggressive elements in Islam (or China!)

The Church should be ASHAMED of its passivity. God will require an account from His ordained Watchmen – “Why didn’t you warn, equip and lead your people?”

Here are some excerpts from Lewis’ column.

“If you did anything to annoy the Russians, punishment would be swift and dire.”

“If you said or did anything against the Americans, not only would there be no punishment; there might even be some possibility of reward, as the usual anxious procession of diplomats and politicians, journalists and scholars and miscellaneous others came with their usual pleading inquiries: ‘What have we done to offend you? What can we do to put it right?’”

“Stage One of the jihad was to drive the infidels from the lands of Islam; Stage Two--to bring the war into the enemy camp, and the attacks of 9/11 were clearly intended to be the opening salvo of this stage.”

“The response to 9/11, so completely out of accord with previous American practice, came as a shock, and it is noteworthy that there has been no successful attack on American soil since then.”

“The U.S. actions in Afghanistan and in Iraq indicated that there had been a major change in the U.S., and that some revision of their assessment, and of the policies based on that assessment, was necessary.”

“More recent developments, and notably the public discourse inside the U.S., are persuading increasing numbers of Islamist radicals that their first assessment was correct after all, and that they need only to press a little harder to achieve final victory.”

“It is not yet clear whether they are right or wrong in this view. If they are right, the consequences--both for Islam and for America--will be deep, wide and lasting.”

Christian Passivity? Pastors, Call Us to Battle!

Christian Passivity? Pastors, Call Us to Battle!

“Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?” (I Cor 14:8)

I was pondering the “spiritual, cultural and political state of the Union” with a friend recently and we came to a conclusion which the CHPA has been trumpeting for years –

“Without the pastors sounding a clear call for battle, we have no hope.”

We all know the list of dangers very well. The question is: “What are we going to do about it?” Or even more appropriately: “What are our pastors, priests and leaders going to do about it?

Please read the article to which I am linking you, excerpts of which you will find below. It talks about Christian “Political Passivity.”

“It’s not only the left that sounds the alarm when Christians ‘jeopardize the separation of church and state’ by engaging in political action. Some Christians object, too. One evangelical leader offered this stern warning: ‘There should not be even a hint of anything political in our public discourse.’”

“This may sound spiritual in some circles, but it can be devastating to the public good. Without question the Gospel has supernatural power to change lives, and those changed lives can change the world. William Wilberforce, Martin Luther King, and Mother Teresa come immediately to mind.”

“The New Testament tells us that government is for ‘the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.’ The book of Proverbs reminds us that, ‘The king gives stability to the land by justice’ and, ‘The execution of justice is joy for the righteous.’”

“Biblical teaching is clear: God intends government to use law to enforce morality. Informed Christian people are essential to that process because the concept of justice that grounds good government can be twisted by evil men in power. If the Church doesn’t stand in the gap giving substance to the words ‘good’ and ‘evil,’ then nothing prevents leadership from reversing the definitions, praising evil and punishing good. Tragically, this is already happening.”

“Does the Scripture teach we should be silent on anything that doesn’t have to do with saving souls? Is it God’s desire that we abandon everything this side of the grave as profane and utterly lost? Is nothing in this life valuable, important, or worth redeeming?”

“The current understanding of separation of church and state—the view that the state is thoroughly secular and not influenced by religious values, especially Christian ones—was completely foreign to the first 150 years of American political thought.”

Please give this information to your leaders. They are the prophets. The Book of Proverbs teaches “without a prophetic vision the people perish (29:18a).” Brethren, our nation is perishing.

Prayer:

“May God cause the people He ordained to sound a clear trumpet call to battle the wave of iniquity and evil engulfing the nation He gave us.”
