Homosexuals, etc. Push ENDA Vote Soon

“Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, to make Me go far away from My sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see greater abominations.” (Ezek 8:6) 

ENDA stands for Employment Non-Discrimination Act (H.R. 2015).  This anti-Christian legislation, the pride and joy of overtly homosexual Rep. Barney Frank (D., Mass.), has been the key objective of the homosexual/transgender/she-male activists for years.  

While the Republicans controlled the agenda of both houses of Congress, ENDA did not make progress.  Things are different now that the leftists are in charge.  Committee hearings have already been held in the House and a vote is expected the week of September 24 (SOON!).

One of the most aggressive Christian ministries in Washington is the Traditional Values Coalition (TVC).  For many years, TVC’s leaders have been vigorously and bravely fighting the wicked homosexual agenda.  Below are excerpts of their analysis of the objectives of ENDA: 

“[P]rotecting ‘gender identity’ in the law will force businesses and non-profits to cater to the whims of cross-dressers, transsexuals, drag queens, and she-males” 

“ENDA will provide federally-protected status for ‘sexual orientation,’ which is defined in the bill as heterosexuality, bisexuality and homosexuality; and ‘gender identity,’ which is the sense of how a person ‘feels’ about his or her birth sex.” 

“Imagine being forced to hire or retain a person who goes through half of a so-called sex change operation? Should a business really have to deal with she-male demands? Or, to hire or retain a person who just ‘thinks’ he’s the opposite sex, but doesn’t ‘transition’ into another sex. The legal problems for employers will be insurmountable.” 

“[H]omosexual/bisexual/transgender activists seek to silence people of faith through the force of law.” 

“ENDA ostensibly provides a ‘religious exemption’ for denominations or organizations operated by denominations – but not other non-profit Christian or other religious organizations.” 

“This is a phony religious exemption. A Christian school, for example, would probably not be exempt under ENDA because its primary purpose is education, not the teaching or spreading of religious doctrine. A Christian day care center would not be exempt from ENDA; nor any Christian-owned for-profit business such as a Bible or book publisher.”

Concerned Women for America warns:  

“This bill would force Christian, Jewish or Muslim business owners to hire people who openly choose to engage in homosexual or cross-dressing behaviors despite a sincerely held religious belief that those behaviors are dangerous, sinful and not in keeping with basic morality.” 

“The law is merely a tool in their never-ending quest to overturn America's Judeo-Christian norms regarding family, sex and marriage.”

For the sake of your children and subsequent generations, and for our nation in general, please call your Member of the House of Representatives (202-224-3121) and ask him/her to vote “NO” on H.R. 2015! 

An anti-Christ spiritual wind is blowing in our government.  Will we who love righteousness and hate evil resist these attacks on our culture?

UN Law of the Sea Treaty:  Great Threat to USA

“He frustrates the devices of the crafty,
So that their hands cannot carry out their plans.
He catches the wise in their own craftiness,
And the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them.” (Job 5:12-13)
 

I am compelled to bring to your attention a matter which, on the surface, seems complicated and arcane: The Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST). 

As King Solomon opined, “There is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9c). 

This Treaty, designed during the Cold War by the Soviets and their allies, is one more effort by the UN to hijack US sovereignty and money and seriously hinder us technologically and militarily.  It was very mistakenly signed by President Clinton after being rejected by President Reagan.  It has never been ratified by the Senate, but the Democrats, ever anxious to give everything we have away to those who hate us, want to bring it to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on September 27, and then hurriedly have the full Senate approve it soon thereafter. 

In order to explain this to you I am providing excerpts of an article:

“Now the United States Senate wants to give control of 70 percent of the earth's surface to the UN.”

“Should the United States Senate ratify the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST), the UN would not only have control of the earth's oceans; the United States would turn its sovereignty over to an inept organization bent on diminishing the power of the United States and bolstering the power of tyrannical regimes hostile to the US.”

“Under LOST, the UN would have unprecedented power to tax and regulate anything that remotely affects the sea beds of the oceans.”

“UN jurisdiction however, may not stop at the shoreline. According to the UN, ‘the greatest threat to the health of the marine environment comes not from oil spills at sea or ocean dumping, but from human activities on land.’”

“Not only will this affect the US economically, but militarily as our security will be greatly compromised.”

“Under current US law, the United States has the authority to stop and board any ship on the high seas suspected of carrying terrorists or WMDs. Under LOST, the United States would be required to have UN permission first, to stop a ship.”

“The US may also be required to provide detailed technological (and often sensitive) information on the required permits for any activity. LOST allows this information to be openly shared with other nations, even our enemies.”

“LOST is another attempt by the UN and rogue nations to diminish the superiority of the US and redistribute wealth and power to third rate regimes set on destroying America. If the treaty is ratified by the Senate, all sovereignty of the American people is lost.”(emphases mine)

Among the most disturbing aspects of LOST is that the US would potentially be committed to transfer militarily relevant technology to possibly unfriendly hands (e.g., China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, etc. – see Hezekiah’s actions in 2 Kg 20:15-18).

Also dangerous are the legal grounds it gives to nations who want to prevent us from interdicting and boarding ships, potentially carrying terrorists or weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

Christian “Surge” Bringing Persecution

 “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” (Heb 13:3)

There are several matters I want to bring to your attention:  

1.      Christianity Finds a Fulcrum in Asia.  This article describes the explosion of evangelism and conversions in China.  It is a very exciting evaluation of what is taking place.  For example, the author believes “the world will change beyond our capacity to recognize it… Islam will crumble beneath the challenge from the East” (i.e., the Chinese Christians). 

Please read this breathtaking analysis of what we can look forward to. 

2.      China sweeping Christians out.  In contrast to the above, this article reports the Chinese government’s decision to expel foreign Christians in advance of the Bejing Olympics in 2008.  It reports an “increase in arrests of Chinese house-church pastors and leaders who have been accused of being “suspects using evil cults!”  In fact, a “Christian was jailed for no more than walking near the construction site of a hotel being prepared for the 2008 events.” 

We Christians in the West live so comfortably and have no idea how it is for Christians in the rest of the world and, in some cases, don’t care!

3.      Testimony of Persecution in China.  Here is a story of one person (Ren Peipei) and what happened to her for “sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.”  Through what she experienced we get a glimpse of how violent and unjust the anti-Christ spirit is in overtly pagan countries. 

Please read her story and pray for her and millions of our brethren like her. 

4.      Voice of the Martyrs Update on Brethren Needing Prayer.  This worthy organization regularly updates a list of situations around the world which involves individuals, families, churches, etc. who are suffering terribly and need your fervent prayers.

You will find each story gripping and certainly worth your time in intercession.  You may want to bookmark this page and refer back to it often.  New information is provided there regularly.  

There are many more such articles and stories.  In one sense, most are heartbreaking.  Yet, they are also exciting because they give us a picture of how vigorously God is at work worldwide and that REVIVAL is on the move, especially in less affluent and comfortable regions.
