How Do You Feel About the ‘Gang-Rape’

in Annapolis?  I’m SAD! 

 “They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly,
Saying, 'Peace, peace!'
When there is no peace.”(Jer 6:14) 

“The LORD has fulfilled His fury,
He has poured out His fierce anger.” (Lam 4:11a) 

“My eyes fail with tears, My heart is troubled” (Lam 2:11a) 

Shortly after the conclusion of the first day of the “Peace” conference in Annapolis, it is difficult to be anything but very, very SAD.   

“Why are you sad, Harry?  Don’t you want ‘Peace’?  Didn’t Jesus call you to be a ‘Peacemaker’ (see Mt 5:9)?” 

“Yes”, but not at the price of ignoring the two foundations of His Throne, Righteousness and Justice (see Ps 89:14). 

Also, certainly not if this “Peace” defies the Lord’s specific Prophetic Warnings and Will.  As we explained in my most recent Alert (see Nov 21^st Alert here), the Lord does not want the Biblical lands He designated to the Israelis as an “everlasting covenant” (i.e. FOREVER!) to be divided up.

Again, as my recent Alert warned, those who instigate the division of these lands have historically suffered devastating natural DISASTERS as a consequence of God’s Wrath (see the article by John McTernan, Burden for America, which reviews this in great detail). 

Then, of course, I’m sad because my very own country and President (for whom I had such high hopes) have instigated this travesty.  

“Harry, what do ‘righteousness and justice’ have to do with the Annapolis meeting?” 

The authors listed below do a fine job of answering that very good question.  Suffice it to say, these meetings are “unjust” and “not-right” for several reasons:  

1. “Peace” is unattainable because it is not the goal of most of the participants – the punishment and elimination of Israel is!   
2. The motives of the leaders of these meetings are “not-right”.  Their motives seem to be vainglory, legacy building, humiliating Israel, acquiring land for themselves (e.g., the Golan Heights for Syria) and desperately trying to stay in office at home (e.g., Prime Minister Ehud Olmert of Israel), etc. 
3. Desperately trying to appease Israel’s enemies (who are driven by an anti-Semitic spirit), Israel will probably further shrink herself by giving away more land and security in hopes of winning approval from people and nations who hate her and will NEVER do anything but “curse” her.   
4. It is certainly “unjust and not-right” for us to foster a terrorist state on the borders of Israel.   

Frank Gaffney (see below) sums it up:  it’s a “Gang-Rape”, one which sounds great to dull, misunderstanding ears but, in reality, will have devastating repercussions for both Israel (our supposed “ally”) and the United States.  

So, please study the articles listed below.  The topic is so complex and arcane.  Together, these writings provide deep and well-rounded understanding of the perils posed by George Bush’s meetings.  May God have mercy on us all!

DANGER: URGENT PRAYER NEEDED

TO FOIL ANNAPOLIS MEETING

“I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you” (Gen 12:3a) 
“Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession” (Gen 17:8) 

There are many objections I have about President Bush’s past decisions.  These include his immigration policies; his cozy appeasement of Mexico’s Presidents; his refusal to pardon the two border agents (Ramos and Compean) whom his good Texas buddy and appointee U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton arranged to have imprisoned in solitary confinement; supporting LOST (see www.rejectlost.com); signing the McCain-Feingold Finance Bill; holding Islamic Ramadan soirees in the White House and elsewhere; etc., etc. 

[I want to establish that there are many things he has done for which I am very grateful – his support for innocent unborn babies and his stem cell policies, his tax policies, and his judicial nominees are major examples.] 

However, he is embarking on this Israeli – Palestinian (so-called) “Peace Conference” in Annapolis, Maryland, on Tuesday, November 27.  The Iraq war notwithstanding, this effort to build himself (and Condoleezza Rice) a “legacy” could have very severe consequences for our nation.   

How can I say that?  Isn’t “Peace” desirable?  Doesn’t “the world community” (most of whom are cruel dictators, communists or socialists) yearn for this?  Most would answer “Yes”.  But it is unattainable and, even worse, this specific “peace” effort goes directly against God’s Prophetic Word about Israel.   

His Prophetic Word warns:  

1.      Israel is “the apple of His eye;” woe to those who “touch” her for He will shake His Hand against them. (see Zech 2:8-9);

2.      He gave the land in question (especially Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria) to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as an everlasting covenant (what don’t some people understand about “everlasting”?) [see Ps 105:9 and others];

3.      He warns “nations” not to “divide up my land” or face severe “judgment” (see Joel 3:2);

4.      He flatly states that ALL who seek to “heave it away” (i.e., remove the heavy burden of the Jerusalem crisis) will be utterly destroyed for getting involved; they will be “cut in pieces” (see Zech 12:3-9);

5.      He warns that “as you have done (to Israel) so it will be done to you” (Obed 15).

You may read these prophetic warnings with disbelief.  Please don’t do so too hastily.  For years, we at the Capitol Hill Prayer Alert have been interacting with ministries which have been tracking the distinct relationship between ignoring God’s warnings about dividing His covenant land of Israel and subsequent natural disasters which have devastated our nation (including Katrina, floods, earthquakes, wildfires, and stock market crashes).  One ministry we trust has “documented over 50 such correlations”.

These ministries believe that, based on the Word of God and His Warnings, as well as the actual correlations they have seen, President Bush’s attempt to force Israel to give up more land (remember Gaza!) will bring us under God’s Wrath in greater intensity (they believe this could play out in our economy).

As always, when the Middle East and especially Israel are involved, matters are unusually complex.  As your Watchman here in the D.C. area I am obligated to inform and warn you of impending danger.  Based on the Bible and my personal observations of Israel-issues, and ministries which specialize in them, I believe the above is true.  You will have to judge for yourselves.   

God be with you and our nation!  May HIS MERCY triumph over the judgment we deserve for so many terrible things we do (e.g., abortion, homosexuality and other gross perversions).   

How to PRAY: 

1. REPENT for our treatment of God’s covenant land;
2. PRAY that the Annapolis meeting WILL NOT TAKE PLACE and their plans will be FRUSTRATED! 
3. May GOD’S WILL be done!  Not the devil’s or any of the participants; only God’s Will!

Has God ‘Given Us Over’?

(and Leftists Strike Again!)

 “I will punish the world for its evil…” (Is 13:11a) 

“Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness,

 in the lusts of their hearts…” (Rom 1:24a) 

During the past few weeks I have been overwhelmed by the great volume of reports about issues and matters of grave importance to you and your family; to your church and The Church in general; and, truly, to the Nation and the World.   

Based on the above, I am coming to believe that Romans 1:24-32 is underway in some fashion and to some degree.  How much I am not sure at this time.  But, based on the information to which I am privy, I am absolutely sure it has begun.   

So, for the foreseeable future I plan to alter my approach to our Alerts:  

1.      You will receive more short Alerts, about a greater variety of topics for prayer;  

2.      I will be offering you some Biblical thoughts about “God giving us over;” what it looks like when He does; and what you and I have an obligation to do about it once we have been warned.   

As an example of #1 above, may I alert you that the liberal/socialist/pagan crowd is busy once again trying to defeat the United States and its armed forces.  For the 58^th time (yes, 58^th, they never give up) the House of Representatives has initiated an effort to defund the troops, embarrass President Bush, and get us out of Iraq, thereby turning that vital nation over to Iran and Al-Qaeda and making it a very safe haven for Islamofascists.  Does that make geopolitical sense?  Or is it pandering to their far left base to make political points?  

Below are excerpts from a Nov. 15^th article about this: 

“The Pentagon yesterday warned that money was already running out for combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, as congressional Democrats dismissed recent security gains and threatened to stall emergency war funds.”

“‘The Army is in a particularly precarious situation,’ Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said. ‘Absent extraordinary measures, it would run out of money by mid-February — so quick congressional action is needed as quickly as possible.’”(editorial comment: Do the leftists even care?)

“Nevertheless, House Democrats passed a $50 billion war-spending bill last night with a 218-203 vote that President Bush promises to veto because it mandates a U.S. pullout from Iraq start immediately with a goal of a nearly complete withdrawal by December 2008.”
“The top Democrats — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada — say they will withhold troop funds for at least the rest of the year if Mr. Bush does not accept the pullout timetable.”
“White House press secretary Dana Perino said Democrats used the pullout bill ‘for political posturing and to appease radical groups.’”
“The Democrats believe that these votes will somehow punish the president, but it actually punishes the troops.”(emphases mine)

Updates on LOST and ENDA

“Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees,
Who write misfortune,
Which they have prescribed…
For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.”(Is 10:1, 4b) 

Recently we have been alerting you about two VERY significant (and wicked) pieces of legislation.  I think you might appreciate an update about the status of each.   

1.      Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST):

For extensive information about this treaty which threatens our national sovereignty and will put us under a “world government” controlled by the UN, please see our recent extensive and thorough Alerts (see past alerts here 9/12, 9/26, 10/24, & 10/29).

Unfortunately, LOST was approved by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, 17-4, with the help of deceived globalist Republicans.  Next, it will go to the entire Senate for a final vote.  When this will take place is uncertain.   

If 34 senators agree to filibuster this treaty, it will be killed.  Efforts to corral 34 are currently underway.  We must PRAY!   

2.      ENDA:

We have also written about the innocently named “Employment Non-Discrimination Act” (see past alerts here, 9/18 & 11/1).  

With great sadness we have to report that this abomination passed the House on November 7, and will now go to the Senate where Senator Kennedy (who else?) will introduce it and make his usual valiant effort to have it approved.  Thankfully, President Bush has promised to veto it. (Don’t hold your breath.) 

According to Bill Murray of the Religious Freedom Coalition, ENDA will “grant special employment rights and protected minority status to individuals based upon sexual behaviors.  The law is based on the individual’s ‘perception’ of being persecuted.  Under this bill, non-denominational Christian schools would be forced to hire homosexuals.” 

Peter LaBarbera (President of Americans For Truth) writes:

“In an era when homosexuals are being hired - not fired - for ‘being gay’ -- and when Christians are already being punished or fired by corporations like Allstate for opposing homosexuality, ENDA would lead to further harassment of faith-motivated employees by creating federal ‘rights’ based on homosexuality and bisexuality.”

“It’s Big Government with an amoral twist and, incidentally, a homosexual activist lawyer’s dream.”

“ENDA would take away Christians’ and others’ right to stand up for Biblical morality.”

So, what to do about these two (and other) dangers to our beloved nation: 

1.      WAKE UP!  The pagans are busy dissolving the fabric of this country and Christians seem unconcerned.  Before you know it, all will be lost and you will have no one to blame but yourselves and your pastors, priests, elders, etc. who have failed to warn and lead you into effective resistance (see Ezek 33);

2.      PRAY!  Only prayer can effectively turn back this tide of evil.  Please call together prayer groups and cry out to the Lord for deliverance (see 2 Chron 20).

ENDA - House to vote soon;

“God is a just judge,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.”(Ps 7:11)

You hate all workers of iniquity.” (Ps 5:5) 

I recently (Archives - Sep 18) wrote to you about ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act - H.R. 2015).  This bill, if signed into law, would create a federally-protected status for ‘sexual orientation’ defined as homosexuality, bisexuality and ‘gender identity,’ which is the sense of how a person ‘feels’ about his or her birth sex.   

As the Family Research Council (FRC) has noted, “ENDA's real purpose [is] suppressing religious freedom”.  In an effort to “educate and mobilize” more Americans, FRC has created a brochure which “explains how homosexual activists are camouflaging their demand for special treatment as an appeal for ‘equal rights.’” You can obtain it from their website: http://www.frc.org.   

The vote on ENDA has been delayed, but is expected to resurface soon.  Please take time to read FRC’s brochure, as well as the excerpts and relevant articles below.   

Concerned Women for America (CWA) has asked the President for a veto pledge on ENDA, but it is not certain if a Veto will be issued.  CWA’s Policy Director for Cultural Issues, Matt Barber had this to say:  

 “ENDA pits the government directly against religion… It would force employers to check their First Amendment guaranteed rights to freedom of religion, speech and association at the workplace door…”

 “ENDA would force business owners to betray their faith and adopt a view of sexual morality which directly conflicts with fundamental tenets of that faith.”

“It would give liberal judges the authority to subjectively determine who qualifies for an exemption.”

“It… would open the floodgates for lawsuits against employers who wish to live out their faith.” (emphases added)

Additionally, according to a World Net Daily article:

“Staff members for President Bush have helped congressional staffers work on ‘religious exemption’ language for a new ‘anti-discrimination’ proposal that actually would codify in federal statutes an anti-Christian bias, and that will make it harder for him to veto, according to an activist group.”

 “The proposal, for which homosexual and transsexual activists are crusading, has tremendous potential to criminalize Christianity in the United States by creating federal 'rights' based on wrong and destructive lifestyle.”

“As WND has reported, this issue recently came to a head in California, where Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed into law a ban on anything that includes a ‘discriminatory bias’ that could be perceived as being against bisexuals, transsexuals and homosexuals in all public schools.”

“There, analysts have concluded that even the terms ‘mom and dad’ and ‘husband and wife’ could be banned because someone in a same-sex lifestyle choice could perceive that as being derogatory.” (emphases added)

Engage in the battle: contact your representatives and tell them to OPPOSE ENDA!  And PRAY for GOD to move!
