Obama: “Sheep or Goat”?  

“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Cor 2:14) 

As I approach my 73^rd birthday I look back at presidents who served during my lifetime and I am impressed with the quality and integrity of many (not all) of them: Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Ford, Reagan and the two Bushes. 

I did not agree with all of them on many occasions, but it cannot be denied these were (and are) men of honor and integrity. And we must THANK GOD for them! 

However, our culture has become so Godless that we are deceived and lean towards Godless candidates, of whom we should be ashamed (Rom 1:32)!

For years, I have made clear our ministry’s distaste for the Clintons. They are evil people of the highest order. 

But, we are faced with another candidate who is using Race, White Guilt, and a Beguiling Tongue to hurtle himself and his fellow travelers towards the White House. Of course, I am speaking about Senator Barack Obama. 

Our ministry has a God-given assignment, that of a WATCHMAN with a prophetic perspective. As such we search the landscape for information, opinions and analysis about matters of significant importance for the Church, the Nation and the World. 

We have been blessed with an abundance of information about Senator Obama, much of it by black authors of great renown. You may agree with some of the writings, and you many find some objectionable. My job is to bring them to your attention and what you do with them is between you and God, since it is He who gave me this job. He wants you to be a well-informed citizen and voter. 

Therefore, this and subsequent Alerts will bring you information about Sen. Obama and his fellow travelers, much of which will be new to you (for example, little is known about his extreme socialist views and ardent pro-abortion and pro-homosexual “marriage” and “union” records).

To begin with the most important matter – Obama’s “faith”, I bring you excerpts from research done by Rev. Rob Schenck entitled “Barack Obama: Sheep or Goat?” (you may remember from a recent Alert that I hold Rob in highest esteem as a theologian, Biblical scholar and Christian pro-life activist):

“The Senator from Illinois says he is a Christian, but we’re not told exactly what kind. For this reason, I set out to research who and what Barack Obama is, but only as far as his faith is concerned.” 

“So, for the good of the whole, I present to you my findings on Barack Obama’s religious identity. While it may not tell you exactly what kind of Christian Obama is—it will tell you what kind of Christian he is not. Barack Obama is definitely not an Evangelical.” 

“Obama’s mother was a quintessential secular humanist”

 “Obama came to Christ on his own terms, rather than surrendering unconditionally to Jesus’ Lordship. This is important for all Christians to know, and particularly for Evangelical Christians whom Obama is actively courting for political purposes.”

 “This commitment to the plenary authority and centrality of the Bible does not describe Barack Obama’s Christianity. In fact, Obama picks and chooses what parts of the Bible he will accept or reject.”

 “It is clear that Obama uses his own human criteria for what he will believe and what he won’t believe. This is unacceptable to Evangelicals. The Word of God instructs us; we do not instruct it. We conform to God’s Word; God’s Word does not conform to us.”

 “Obama doesn’t seem to have this assurance of his salvation”

 “Obama defines himself as a ‘progressive’. He admonishes those of us who believe in the inerrancy of the Bible”

 “Obama’s progressivism, however, leads him to conclusions that are morally untenable, if not reprehensible, to Evangelicals and other traditionalist Christians.”

 “He approves of same-sex romantic and sexual relationships, as do his church, his pastor and his denomination. He supports abortion for any reason, by any method, at any stage of pregnancy including during the birth process.”

“In an E-mail under his wife Michelle’s signature, his campaign for US Senate championed Roe v. Wade and partial-birth abortion. In 2002 as an Illinois legislator, Obama even voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act, which would have protected babies that survived late-term abortion.”

 “Obama is a member in a church that places devotion to race and nationality on par with devotion to Christ. His cultural exclusivity stands in direct opposition to the Evangelical concept of the transcendent universality of the Gospel.”

 “Obama will also likely need to explain why his mentor, Pastor Wright, unapologetically uses language that insults millions of Americans, many of whom are Evangelicals. In one interview, Wright called those of us who voted for George Bush ‘stupid.’” 

 “For humanity’s sake, Obama must err on the side of preserving those things that matter most: the public acknowledgment of God, the Sanctity of Marriage, and the Sanctity of Life.”

 “Barack Obama is not an Evangelical Christian.” (all emphases mine)

The assessment that Sen. Obama could probably be a “GOAT” is very serious and disturbing, because he wraps his political policies in christianese, seemingly without understanding or obeying God’s ways or laws. 

In fact, from God’s written “perspective”, Obama’s policies (and those of Sen. Clinton as well) are “abominations”, “detestable”, and “hateful” which “pollute” and “defile” the land (nation)” – (see Num 35:37; Lev 18:19f; 20:all; Dt 12:31; 18:9-10; Ps 94:21; Prov 6:17; Is 1:15; Ezek 9:9; Rom 1:24f; Rev 6:9-10).

A true “sheep” would never wholeheartedly endorse policies which are so reprehensible to the Lord; nor would he attend a church or follow the teachings of a pastor who promotes such evils.

Now we understand why Barack Obama refuses to wear an American flag pin – his mentor and spiritual advisor Rev. Jeremiah Wright has taught his congregation that America and especially white people are “evil” and according to Michelle Obama, this nation is “downright mean” and very difficult to be proud of. 

We have done some research and found where Rev. Wright learned his intensely hate-filled, Marxist, “Black Liberation Theology.” The man’s name is James H. Cone, currently a professor at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. 

Here are some of Cone’s thoughts which have been imbibed by Rev. Wright and passed on to Senator Obama and other congregants:

Further information about James Cone’s influence on Wright and Obama was published by The American Thinker on February 22:

“The influence of the black liberation theology of James H. Cone appears in the political philosophy of Barack Obama as well as in the recent controversial statement about national pride made by Michelle Obama.” 

“Examining Cone’s theology may enlighten us on Barack's political philosophy and Michelle’s recently controversial statement about not having been proud of her country until the favorable reception to her husband's candidacy. The Trinity UCC website was updated early this year.  Before that, Cone’s book was singled out as required reading for Trinity parishioners.” 

“The time has come for white America to be silent and listen to black people. . . . All white men are responsible for white oppression. . . . Theologically, Malcolm X was not far wrong when he called the white man ‘the devil’…” 

“Michelle Obama’s recent statement about pride-in-country is thoroughly consistent with both the Africentric theology of Trinity UCC and with the black theology of their spiritual mentor’s (Wright’s) mentor (Cone).” 

“[W]hile Barack is the softer, social justice side of black liberation theology, Michelle is the harder anti-white-supremacy side.” (emphases mine)

By now most of you have heard excerpts of Rev. Wright’s “sermons” which are filled with errors, factual lies, hate, Marxism, anti-Americanism and tremendous racism. Below are some relevant articles about this man and the Senator. 

The question remains – how does the Lord feel about the theology and words of James Cone, Rev Wright and their prodigies Michelle and Barack Obama? As noted at the top of this Alert, activities and words which ‘sow discord among brethren’ are among the seven things the Lord HATES!

Christians, especially pastors and teachers, are called to be PEACEMAKERS, not inciters of hatred and division:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you” (Matt 5:43-45)

It is obviously not up to me to opine whether these men are “sons of your Father in Heaven” (v. 45) or “sons of God” (v. 9). However, if I ever talked as they do, I would be swiftly excommunicated by my very Biblical church. 

How to PRAY:

“Lord, false prophets are spewing hatred and advocating division in Your Church; please help us, Lord, before this goes further. Please intervene!”

“O LORD God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You?... For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” (2 Chron 20:6,12b)

The Lord Deals With Eliot Spitzer! 

“God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you” (2 Thess 1:6)

“Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.” (Rom 1:24) 

As Attorney General of New York, Eliot Spitzer “was excessively brutal on pro-lifers.” According to Rev. Rob Schenck, he “sold his soul” to pro-abortion groups as he intimidated “protesters” and Crisis Pregnancy Centers in an effort to crush them and put the latter out of business. Here are some excerpts from Rob’s blog:

“Pride makes us think we're above everybody else. They may get caught but I never will; even if I did get caught, law and punishment is made for the little people, not for me. It's hubris--arrogance--the Satanic sin: ‘I will rise above God!’” (Isaiah 14: 12-15) 

“Based on his prior behavior in office, especially toward the good pro-life people who were trying to help women in crisis pregnancies, there's a strong victimizer in Spitzer.”

 “Spitzer was brutal on pro-lifers. He had sold his soul in a Faustian pact with pro-abortion groups and he paid them back in pounds of pro-life flesh. He abused his office by using the crushing arm of the law to intimidate, unduly punish and drive from public space any soul that dared to dissent from the prevailing pro-abortion orthodoxy.” 

“But he didn't stop at pro-life ‘protesters.’ The young attorney general went after pregnancy care centers, accusing them of practicing medicine without a license. He unabashedly announced his intention to shut down anything that advocated for Life.”

“I have to be very careful not to gloat in my enemy's downfall, not to beat my chest in prideful satisfaction that I'm better than Eliot Spitzer. It's not even good enough to think I'm not as bad as Eliot Spitzer. The truth is, I'm just as bad as Eliot Spitzer: ‘For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.’(Romans 3:23)”

“If my speculations are right, then there's hope for Spitzer as there is hope for all of us. He should pay his debt to society, just as so many of his prosecutorial subjects had to pay their debts. He should also find redemption, though, just as all of us can through the merits of the one who suffered, yet Himself knew no sin.”(emphases mine)

Knowing how viciously Spitzer has treated our brethren pro-lifers, when I heard about his fall from power, I knew that God is dealing with this arrogant and cruel ruler. The pro-lifers he tried to crush are the “apples of God’s eye.”

“For this is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘…[W]hoever touches you touches the apple of [My] eye- I will surely raise My hand against them…’”(Zech 2:8-9a)

[Rev. Schenck is a highly esteemed warrior for Life, and Truth. For years he and his twin brother Paul battled in New York State in the pro-life trenches, often going to jail. He personally experienced Spitzer’s vendetta. He is a close associate of mine and I trust his judgment 100%]

As Rob Schenck points out in his very cogent and Christ-like perspective:  

Brethren, we must join Rob in Bold Prayer:

1. We must not GLOAT! Vengeance belongs to God! (Prov 17:5; Rom 12:19)
2. We must PRAY for his beleaguered wife and children. (Prov 12:4)
3. We must PRAY for Spitzer’s redemption, acknowledging that we, too, have sinned terribly and been saved by God’s Grace. (Rom 5:17, 20)

 Brethren, Stop Worrying! 

Barack Will Heal Your Souls!  

Jesus promises, “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Mt 11:29) 

As I ponder Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign I am increasingly distraught! For years I have hoped that the Clintons will vanish from the American political scene. Like a cancer in our body politic, they need to be excised and discarded, NEVER to be seen or heard again. 

Yet, as this possibility seems to be within reach, another MONSTER is rising – Sen. Obama! His election will spell the end of America as we have come to know and love her. 

“Brother Harry, how can you say something so extreme?”

My answer: “Stay tuned because I have information which will astonish you and hopefully galvanize you into action in PRAYER!”

As a Christian I ask you, “Do you want Sen. Obama and his wife to ‘fix your broken soul’ (and the world’s, too)?”

Regarding our “broken souls,” here are some excerpts from Wall Street Journal columnist Bill Kristol (see entire column here):

“For as [Michelle Obama] had argued in the Wisconsin speech, America’s illness goes far beyond a flawed political process: ‘Barack knows that at some level there’s a hole in our souls.’ This was a variation of language she had used earlier on the campaign trail: ‘Barack Obama is the only person in this race who understands that, that before we can work on the problems, we have to fix our souls. Our souls are broken in this nation.’”

“So we don’t have to work to improve our souls. Our broken souls can be fixed — by our voting for Barack Obama. We don’t have to fight or sacrifice to help our country. Our uninvolved and uninformed lives can be changed — by our choosing Barack Obama. America can become a nation to be proud of — by letting ourselves be led by Barack Obama.”

“Obama likes to say, ‘we are the change that we seek’ and ‘we are the ones we’ve been waiting for’…But the effectual truth of what Obama is saying is that HE is the one we’ve been waiting for.”(emphases mine)

Kristol nails it! The Obamas believe they are the ones who are so anointed that they (especially he) can heal what’s missing in our nation and in our lives. 

Beloved, there is only ONE PERSON who can heal our souls – His Name is JESUS. And, He alone can heal the soul of our nation (and every other nation as well):

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matt 11:29)

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chron 7:14)

“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone” (Ps 62:1a)

“And Mary said, ‘My soul magnifies the Lord.’”(Luke 1:46)

“Our faith in Jesus is “an anchor for the soul” (Heb 6:19)

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)[all emphases mine]

I could go on and on, but self-identified “Christians” like the Obamas (more about that in subsequent Alerts) should be very, very cautious before even sounding messianic:  

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” (Matt 24:4-5)  

Remember what happened to Herod when he accepted worship which belongs only to God:  

And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died. (Acts 12:22-23) 

So, Brethren, the Clintons are not yet gone, but another Leviathan (see Is 27:1) lurks off our shores.   I am very concerned about so many woeful aspects of Senator Obama, his associations, his record, and his worldview. I will be bringing them to your attention as the weeks pass. Please read the relevant articles listed below for additional information. 

Prayer possibilities:

1. Thank the Lord that the Clintons seem close to being “brought down” (see Ps 15:7; also 36:12 and 73:19; and if you think this is an unchristian prayer, please consider God’s attitude and Ps 141:5b);
2. Lord, please EXPOSE the darkness in the Obamas’ lives and belief-systems (Prov 13:16; Eph 5:11);
3. Lord, how wonderful it would be to have these four talented people doing Kingdom work! Please draw them to Yourself, we PRAY (1 Kg 8:58).
