At Last, A Good and True Prophet in Our Midst!

At Last, A Good and True

Prophet in Our Midst!

“[C]hose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.... But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Josh 24:15

At the outset, let me state that I am not a Catholic. I am a Christian, as are many, many Catholics. However, as many Americans and others, I was unusually touched and impressed by the Pope as a person and by his message.

He and his message stood in such stark contrast to our current political (and religious) leaders.

Our political (and too many “Christian”) leaders advocate policies which are anathema to the Triune God.

For example:

·         Abortion in general;

·         Partial birth abortion;

·         Infanticide (killing babies who survive abortion);

·         Exporting abortion to developing nations;

·         High taxation (i.e., stealing);

·         Partiality in taxation;

·         Homosexual “unions or marriages”;

·         Stem cell research;

·         Calling immoral things “good”;

·         Cozying up to Islamic or other terrorists;

·         The New World Order organizations;

·         Shutting down free speech, especially Christian speech;

·         Disinterest in persecution worldwide, especially of Christians;

·         Hypocrisy about their Christian “faith”, if mentioned at all.

Therefore, it was so refreshing to hear from a world leader (and truly, the Pope is the only “universal” figure) about:

·         Jesus is the ONLY HOPE (are you listening, Barack?);

·         A positive message of God’s Love and Salvation;

·         The dangers of “an increasingly secular and materialistic culture” driven by relativism;

·         The Christian message cannot be divorced from the social and political realm;

·         Christians are conforming to “the spirit of this age”;

·         The transforming power of the Gospel;

·         Admiration for George Washington and the truths embodied in the founding of America;

·         “God Bless America”;

·         Human Rights! (addressed pointedly to the UN which is densely populated by dictatorships perpetrating the most egregious abuses);

·         Speaking out against radical Islam (in an earlier trip to Germany);

·         Advocating “freedom”, especially to pursue what is Right and True, “not what is false and wrong”;

·         Ultimately, “Truth is a person, Jesus Christ”! (May I add, “Amen!”).

We must ponder what has just happened in our midst. On the one hand we can see and hear “leaders” who advocate stuff which is poisonous and downright evil. Yet at the same time someone came and spoke to us about Faith in Jesus, God’s Love, the goodness of America, the importance and Sanctity of Life, while warning us not to continue cultural pursuits which may destroy us.

So, what do we do with this?

Answer:

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” Deut 30:19

Is Obama "Elitist"? Ask "religious" Christians!

Is Obama “Elitist”?

Ask “religious” Christians!

“That the hypocrite should not reign,
Lest the people be ensnared.” (Job 34:30)

“Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.’” (Matt 15:7-8)

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! …Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” (Matt 23:27a, 28)

Brethren, just in case you missed it, Senator Obama believes you are “clinging to religion” (and guns, too) because you are “bitter”; and, when given an opportunity to clarify (or, horrors, even disavow) this demeaning elitist attitude, he refused!! He only regrets he “offended” people like you and me.

Brethren, Sen. Obama is not religious in the sense we mean it. What we mean by “religious” is “believing wholeheartedly in Jesus as Lord of our lives and obeying His precepts as laid out and defined in His Holy Scriptures.”

Sen. Obama may say he’s a “devout” Christian, but his acts (see previous Alerts about stances on abortion, for example) and his words prove otherwise.

Most of us do not “cling” to “religion” (i.e., Christianity) because we’re desperate or “bitter”. Believers like you and me cling to our faith because we love the Triune God and His Beauty and Glory, His Love, His Goodness, His Merciful offer of Salvation, His Word and Truth, His Justice, His Supernatural signs and wonders, His Forgiveness of our sins, His Precepts, His Guidance, His Tenderness and His Father’s Heart to you and me (among other aspects of His divinity).

So, if Sen. Obama thinks being “religious” is for those poor fools who are “bitter” and unenlightened, how can we believe he’s a “devout Christian”

Answer: We can’t. He’s a hypocrite! When he’s trying to get money from rich elitists in San Francisco, he degrades “religious” Christians as buffoons; when he’s talking to us buffoons, he’s a “devout Christian”. HYPOCRITE!!

Below are some excerpts about this matter:

“Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, at a televised forum on faith and politics last night, said Sen. Barack Obama's remark about ‘bitter’ small-town voters clinging to religion and guns raised legitimate concerns about his character and that it was an appropriate campaign issue.”

“‘Someone goes to a closed-door fundraiser in San Francisco and makes comments that do seem elitist, out of touch and, frankly, patronizing,’ she said on the ‘Compassion Forum’ broadcast on CNN.”

“Mrs. Clinton said she believes ‘the potential for life begins at conception’ but that women must be entrusted to decide absent government intrusion whether to have an abortion.”

“Mr. Obama said he has not come to a ‘firm resolution’ on when life begins. ‘Is it when a cell separates? Is it when the soul stirs? So I don't presume to know the answer to that question,’ he said.”

“The furor underscored several long-perceived weaknesses about Mr. Obama — a general air of aloofness, his ties to racist sermons by the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. and an inability to connect with white working-class voters…”

“[The remarks] call into question whether his appeals to working-class voters have been mere contrivances, mere vote-getting activities. And even more profoundly Obama’s remarks reinforce the belief of those who say there is much more to know about the senator’s real values and real attitudes.” (emphases mine)

(see entire article here: Clinton, Obama spar on 'bitter' comments regarding voters)

And also:

“As political psychoanalysis, this is what they believe in Cambridge and Hyde Park. Guns and God are the opiate of the masses, who are being gulled by Karl Rove and rich Republicans. If only they embraced their true economic self-interest, these pure saps wouldn't need religion and they wouldn't dislike non-white immigrants.”

“Mr. Obama’s unreflective condescension is reminiscent of the famous 1993 Washington Post article that described evangelical Christians as ‘poor, undereducated and easy to command.’ And the fact that he said it so naturally in front of a San Francisco crowd suggests that this is what he may truly believe.” (emphases mine)

"Barack, You're No Jackie Robinson!"

“Barack, You’re No Jackie Robinson!”

“Even a child is known by his deeds,
Whether what he does is pure and right.” (Prov 20:11)

One of the most eminent black intellectuals in the United States is Walter E. Williams. For years he has been Professor of Economics at George Mason University and is a nationally syndicated columnist. When he speaks and writes, we should all pay attention! At 72 (I just turned 73) he is obviously a wise man; as a black conservative in a sea of arrogant white leftists, he is certainly very courageous as was Jackie Robinson to whom he compares Sen. Obama.

[By the way, I was in Philadelphia in 1947 and went to see Jackie play his first game against the Phillies; he was such an exciting personality and performer that I became a Brooklyn Dodger fan and remained so until they abandoned Brooklyn and moved to Los Angeles; as such, I feel somewhat qualified to echo Professor Williams’ assessment of Jackie’s qualities and the lack thereof of Senator Obama.]

Here are some excerpts from Professor Williams’ very interesting commentary:

 “For the nation and for black people, the first black president should be the caliber of a Jackie Robinson, and Barack Obama is not. Mr. Obama has charisma and charm but in terms of character, values and understanding, he is no Jackie Robinson.”

“Mr. Wright’s racist and anti-American ideas are by no means unique. They are the ideas of many leftist professors and taught to our young people.”

“[Obama’s] Philadelphia speech demonstrated his clever style where he merely changed the subject. The controversy was not about race. It was about his longtime association with such a hatemonger and whether he shared the preacher’s vision.”

“Mr. Obama’s success is truly a remarkable commentary on the goodness of Americans and how far we’ve come in resolving matters of race.”

“Mr. Obama has convincingly won primaries in states with insignificant black populations. As such, it further confirms what I’ve often said: The civil rights struggle in America is over and it’s won.”

“The fact that the civil rights struggle is over and won does not mean there are not major problems confronting many members of the black community but they are not civil rights problems and have little or nothing to do with racial discrimination.”

“While not every single vestige of racial discrimination has disappeared, Mr. Obama and Mr. Wright are absolutely wrong in suggesting racial discrimination is anywhere near the major problem confronting a large segment of the black community.”

“The major problems are: family breakdown, illegitimacy, fraudulent education and a high rate of criminality. Confronting these problems, that are not the fault of the larger society, requires political courage. And that’s an attribute Mr. Obama and most other politicians lack.”

(Entire article here: Readiness crucible)

Brethren, in these Alerts about Sen. Obama I hope you will come to understand how unfit he and his wife are to occupy the White House. [Note: we have long ago established that fact about the Clintons.]

From the research to which the Lord has led me, my perspective is identical to that of Professor Williams:

“[In] terms of character, values and understanding, he is no Jackie Robinson!” (emphases mine).

Brethren, aren’t these traits that we want in a President? Do we want a president who willingly associates with ardent racists, hatemongers, liars, anti-Americans, abortionists, radical anti-Semites, socialists, Hamas-lovers and hypocrites (more about the latter in an upcoming Alert about Rev. Wright’s extravagant $1.6 million palatial house in a gated community which Sen. Obama apparently approved since he has stayed in the church and has not publicly disassociated himself from it)?

How to Pray:

  1. That the Lord will continue to expose any and all wickedness in the lives of all the presidential and other candidates (John 3:20);
  1. That the Lord will not give us the political victors we deserve and seem to want, but rather men and women of character and godliness whom we can admire and trust (Ezek 18:5-9).

Obama: Babies Are a "Punishment", Not a Blessing

Obama: Babies Are a “Punishment”,

Not a Blessing

“The heart of fools proclaims foolishness” (Prov 12:23b)
“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Mt 12:34b)

As I have been pointing out, Senator Obama with the soaring rhetoric must be exposed for what he is (a rabid humanist using “God-talk”) and what he believes.

Recently he let it slip that, despite his professed (but very dubious) Christianity, he believes it can be a “punishment” for women to bear and bring to life babies who were not planned.

“The Christian Defense Coalition condemns Senator Obama for saying that a young single woman having a baby would be punishing them.”

“Senator Obama recently made this statement speculating if one of his two young daughters became pregnant. He said, ‘But if they made a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”

“Senator Obama seems to be following in the footsteps of his pastor, Rev. Wright, by making such divisive and hateful statements.”

(Entire article here: Faith Group Condemns Obama for 'Punished with a Baby' Quote )

As Focus on the Family Action’s magazine Citizen points out (April 2008), Obama “[I]nsists he’s ‘rooted in the Christian tradition’… In fact, Obama has attended the largest church in one of America’s most strident pro-abortion denominations – The United Church of Christ – for 20 years.” We ask, how can he embrace Jesus “who caused John the Baptist to leap in his mother’s womb”, work doggedly for abortion (child sacrifice), and call himself a Christian? [Very importantly, see God’s opinion of children and babies: Ps 127:3-5; also Jesus’ own actions and attitude towards children: Mk 9:36 and 10:15.]

Clearly the Senator does not know or care about Holy Scripture (Mk 12:24) and is driven by political and humanistic considerations. Readers, please understand that, in God’s eyes, this makes him an accomplice to murder since he approves of and promotes the shedding of “innocent blood” by way of abortion (please ponder Romans 1:31 and Prov 6:17).

Brethren, Obama’s offhand comment about “punishment” is very telling. His passion for abortion (and Sen. Clinton’s as well) is helping to bring God’s curses and wrath on our land. Do you want your children and grandchildren to live in a nation cursed by God (Num 35:33-34)?

How to Pray:

  1. REPENT for our nation’s disdain for the “Sanctity of Life”;
  1. CRY OUT to the Lord for His Merciful intervention and for a Restoration of Christendom’s historic Respect for Life and abhorrence of abortion.
