Undecided Senate Elections
Need Urgent Prayer
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice;
But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” Prov 29:2
Thankfully, the elections are (mostly) over! God has spoken and we are experiencing “shock and awe”, as well as horrific sadness and “godly sorrow” (not enough, I am afraid – see 2 Cor 7:10)!
However, as mentioned above, two elections are still in motion – the undecided, but VERY IMPORTANT, Senate races in Georgia and Minnesota. Two Republican candidates are involved in recounts and reruns. For very significant Spiritual and Christian reasons (their votes will help filibuster the terribly wicked Obama/Democrat agenda), these two Republican stalwarts must triumph and be returned to Washington! But, shenanigans are underfoot!
Below are excerpts from articles which elaborate on these races:
‘Live from Minnesota, it’s ... a hotly contested Senate race and recount fight. Political tensions are running high in the Land of 10,000 Lakes as election officials prepare to recount 2.9 million ballots in the state’s closest U.S. Senate race in history.”
“An improbable 204 votes separate Sen. Norm Coleman, the Republican incumbent, who is leading his opponent, former ‘Saturday Night Live’ actor-comic Al Franken of the Democratic Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party. That number is down from the 221 figure last week, but even that is expected to change as ballots are recounted statewide.”

“The former ‘Saturday Night Live’ performer and writer [Al Franken] campaigned in Minnesota more as a policy wonk than a humorist, in a widely watched and excruciatingly close race that will draw attention until the final results of a recount are known.”
“Part of the problem, say critics, was Franken himself, and the treasure trove of ammunition his career as a writer and comedian gave Coleman – including a raunchy Playboy column, comments portrayed as anti-Catholic, partisan books such as ‘Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot,’ and the discovery that he hadn’t paid taxes”
“Both candidates were criticized for their barrage of attack ads, with Franken portraying Coleman as a Bush acolyte and sleazy senator, and Coleman harping on Franken’s raunchy humor, satirical rants, and unpaid taxes.”

“No one is saying that the Democrats are trying to steal the Minnesota senate race between GOP incumbent Norm Coleman and Democratic clown Al Franken – yet”
“Mr. Knaak said, they received a call saying that 32 absentee ballots had been found in Minneapolis… they settled for a statement from a city attorney pledging that the ballots had safely been in an election official’s backseat for the last five days.”
“‘We’re just trying to make very sure that no one’s stuffing ballot boxes,’ said Mr. Knaak of the Coleman campaign.”

“It’s being billed as the ‘first race of the 2010 election cycle,’ and the national Democratic and Republican parties are furiously pouring money and manpower into the rematch.”
“First-term Republican incumbent Sen. Saxby Chambliss of Georgia is trying to hold off Democratic challenger Jim Martin in a runoff vote to be held Dec. 2, which will help determine whether the Democrats can build a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate and may provide an early clue to the clout and coattails of President-elect Barack Obama.”
“Mr. Chambliss told reporters in Georgia Monday that the contest represented ‘the first race of the 2010 election cycle.’ A Martin win would put Democrats tantalizingly close to a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate and complete dominance of the executive and legislative branches.”

So, please PRAY very urgently:
- That both Coleman and Chambliss will prevail [for the reasons stated above] (Ps 75:7);
- That all efforts to steal these elections will be exposed and confounded. (Ps 129:5; Job 5:12; Prov 29:2,16).
