Today’s Prayer Topic:

An Increasing Tide and Appeasement of ISLAM

Consider the following: 

• U.S. TV executive, who set up a channel promoting Muslims as peace loving, beheads his wife;
• Geert Wilders, banned from Britain; understanding how appeasement removes freedoms and rewards those who bully and threaten.  (What has happened in Britain is making its way through the U.S.);
• Tehran demands U.S. admit "its mistakes";  
• Clinton seeks to improve US image with Muslims;  
• Jihad training camps are operating on U.S. soil;  
• “According to a Syrian Newspaper, the Obama Administration has agreed to sell airplane parts to Syria… Syria is one of only four countries that the State Department lists as a State Sponsor of Terrorism”;
• U.S. Privately back Pakistan’s ‘Sharia law for peace’ deal with Taliban.  “The deal, under which Sharia law will be introduced… has been met with alarm…However, US officials privately backed the deal”;  
• US advocacy groups (like CAIR), who work to promote Islamic ideology.

PRAY:

¨       That the Lord will EXPOSE the wicked encroachment of this idolatrous “religion” in our country (Ps 63: 11c; Mt 10:26; Jn 3:20);   

¨       That He will cause America’s leaders (especially, His Church leaders) to WAKE UP and RESIST this evil (Dan12: 1-2; Heb 12:4; Jas 4:7).

Watchman’s Warnings:

Government leaders, the Elites and the media have so embraced political correctness and multiculturalism, fearing offending Muslims, they have sought to give in to their requests for special accommodations, and they have promoted the idea that Islam is a “Religion of Peace”. 

Yet, clear teachings from Islam (e.g., the Koran, the Hadith, Muslim Clerics, and other leaders) call Muslims to actively participate in Jihad, to enact violence, torture, rape and death as their duty.  Further, when evidence presents itself that these same violent acts are being carried out by Muslims, they are met with a blind eye by our multiculturally-influenced leaders.  The example of the so-called ‘moderate, peace-loving’ Muzzammil Hassan decapitating his wife is just one case in point.

Incidentally, there are also many non-violent attempts underway to infiltrate the U.S. with Sharia law, and the tenants of Islam.  Robert Spencer, in his book “Stealth Jihad”, explains the broader attempt to impose Sharia through non-violent means – in the media, the courts, the workplace, schoolhouses, corporations, Wall Street, (especially) universities, and the government.  [See Stealth Jihad article by Ben Johnson for an eye-opening look at this topic; there are many existing influences you could be unaware of.]

According to Mark Steyn:

“[T]he mainstream media paid far more attention to the launching of the moderate Muslim Bridges TV than it has to news that the founder of that network has beheaded his wife. “

As Bret Stephen’s Article title indicates: Geert Wilders Is a Test for Western Civilization.  Why is the matter of Geert Wilders of importance here, and what can we learn from what is happening in Britain? 

“This reflects an entrenched establishment attitude that the Muslim community is highly combustible and must be appeased.

“And, because Muslim extremists know this to be the official view, they’re likely to keep inventing pretexts for threats and riots.  

“The Brits, asked to choose between multiculturalism and freedom, will choose by degrees to be unfree.”

Like Britain, our appeasement of Islam will not bring about diversity, tolerance or unity – the jihadist’s goal is to infiltrate the West and establish an Islamic society; they have no interest in mutual understandings or common ground.  The ideas that we will somehow come to a mutual respect, and live together in harmony, are ludicrous.  Instead, intolerance will be the law of the land, we will lose our national identity, and the freedoms we hold dear will vanish.  May God have Mercy on us, and intervene.

Today’s Prayer Topic

Government - The Passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act; the Financial Impact it (and other government initiatives) will have on the United States.

The long-term effects this legislation will have on our society will begin to take shape in the weeks and months ahead.  We know that Government will have more control and more power.  No one is certain how much relief the plan will bring to the economy, how many jobs will be created or what freedoms we have compromised.

 Obama’s and Liberals’ Acts Will Ruin the U.S.A. (Part II)

In part I, we discussed the “stimulus” bill (The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) which has now been signed by President Obama.  With its passage, government has been expanded and citizens are looking to the government to be the answer to their problems.  The existing government is all too happy to be the solution.

While Obama’s campaign promised change, transparency and bipartisanship, it has become clear that this bill was fast-tracked, swiftly passed without debate, or compromise, and without members of Congress (much less the American people) even being able to read it. 

We are ushering in a return to the welfare state and entitlements; it is very likely that the enormous deficits will lead to inflation and rising interest rates; there is discussion of a government takeover of banks.  Medical records will be computerized, and will be shared with the government (likely resulting in discrimination against the elderly, the handicapped and those who are weakest among us). 

Rush Limbaugh’s recent comments include:

“The Constitution and the facts of any story are Obama’s two biggest enemies.  The Constitution was written by Founders who feared precisely what’s happening.  They feared an expanding, never ending, growing government, with more and more power.”

“I think we have a Democrat leadership now who professes a full disdain for our capitalist system.”

Laura Ingraham expressed her opinion that:   

Ann Coulter, in her recent column, says:

“The ‘stimulus’ bill will create an endless army of government bureaucrats aggressively intervening in our lives.”  

The word from the media and from the Obama administration has been “fear”; the hope and change sonnets from the campaign trail have been replaced by a constant and intimidating drum beat of fear.  Many Americans believe the urgency of the situation outweighs the potential devastation that could result.

John Piper discussed some of God’s purposes in the recession in a recent sermon (found here).  Some of the prayer points above also reflect his sentiments.  He reminds us:   

“God is sovereign over these things, he foresees them all, he causes or permits them all, and when he causes or permits something, he does so with purpose and design.”

AND

“God does his great advancing work again and again when it looks least possible for us… [When human resources are low]” 

So, while we know God is certainly in control and has purposes for these events, we must seek to engage in the affairs of our nation.  May He grant us courage to stand against the tide that is coming against us, and cause us to be sober, vigilant and steadfast; not given to fear, but strong in the Lord and His Mighty Power.  (Ps 112:7; Ps 118:6; Eph 6:10)

Tragically our elected “leaders” do not seem to be exposing or objecting to health care provisions which have been secretly and intentionally hidden away (on pages 442-479), and tucked into the so-called “stimulus” bill without televised hearings, committee votes, or debate on the floors of both the House and Senate.  IMPERIOUSNESS!  

The provisions themselves are DEADLY; and the process is a travesty and typical of tyrants!

Here are some of the ways these provisions will affect every person in the United States:

• A new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology will monitor your treatments to make sure they are “cost effective” (i.e. RATIONING); 
• Treatments for younger patients are more likely to be approved than for the elderly who might have osteoporosis or macular degeneration;
• The prime mover in the administration, the disgraced Tom Daschle, has written a handbook – “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.”  This is their guide;
• One of his goals is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies;
• Medical and nursing education will be affected; so will pharmaceutical development of new and better drugs;
• Rush Limbaugh: “We are at a fork in the road.  We can take the fork to the Moscow of the 1970’s or the fork to China.  That’s the road to recovery Obama is offering…  The march to socialized medicine is in the bill.
• “The bill is primarily packed with payoffs to special interest groups”;
• “Tell old people, ‘You’re gonna die, so accept it and get out of the way’”;
• This will HURT business and employment rather than help, which is the supposed goal of the “stimulus” bill.

PRAY: Ask God to Miraculously INTERVENE!   

ACT: Call, email or fax your Congressional Representative and Two Senators.  Politely express your OUTRAGE!

2.    Tyranny – the silencing of dissent

Obama: "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done.”  

• Obama and Congress do not tolerate dissent
• The Dems have started an online petition targeting Limbaugh
• The Fairness Doctrine is back on the radar
• Will impact on Christian/Conservative radio and activism 

PRAY: 

That the Obama/Pelosi Economic Plan will be exposed and soundly defeated (Ps 2:1-6; Mt 10:26);

That the Lord will confuse, reject and nullify all efforts to stop dissent, AND that God’s Watchmen will warn the Church and the general public about the disastrous long-term consequences of the Elites’ programs (Ezek 33:7; Acts 4:18).

Obama’s and Liberals’ Acts Will Ruin the U.S.A. (Part I)

The so-called ‘Stimulus Bill’ currently before Congress would fund special interest projects which will not create jobs and which would otherwise face challenges. The potential to usher in humanistic socialistic governmental control is huge. The national economy cannot withstand such overwhelming national debt.

Also, President Obama does not tolerate dissent, nor do his colleagues in Congress. (à la Putin, Chavez, Castro, Muslim leaders, China, the Pharisees, Pharaoh, etc).

Why?

If people know what’s really happening, they may disapprove, HORRORS!

They have already begun police-state like tactics in telling leaders they shouldn’t be listening to Rush Limbaugh. There is already discussion involving Sen. Stabenow regarding reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine. 

Rev. Pat Mahoney (Director of the Christian Defense Coalition) believes:

“We are at a Tipping Point; it is an ‘urgent hour’; future generations will struggle under the weight of tyranny and oppression; and this will be the result of our churches’ inaction and passivity.”

The two Prayer Topics above represent individual “tipping points” which, when taken together (along with others, like Abortion, which will be forthcoming), form a constellation of evils which threaten our very existence – (even outspoken Biblical churches).

We are entering into an EPIC BATTLE.
