Commentary:

We are under siege! Forces hostile to God are taking over our lives and the lives of our loved ones (especially older people for whom medical tests and treatments might not be “cost effective”). 

Question: “Harry, what are you talking about?” 

Answer: “Barack Obama is trying to ‘take over’ the management of everyone’s lives, including HEALTH CARE.”

Question: “So, what’s wrong with ‘Universal Health Care’ managed by the Federal Government?” 

Answer: “Are you kidding? It is impossible to expect God to Bless a huge, humanistic, pagan bureaucracy such as is being recommended (see Mt 20:25).

The security of the United States is in the process of being systematically dismantled and destroyed by the Obama Administration.

Here in the United States we are infested by enemies of God. Unfortunately they occupy the “high places” of our land such as:

In his discussion of this verse, Matthew Henry (1662-1714) lays it out for you and me:

“Let God arise for the confusion of His enemies and as a judge to pass sentence upon them, and let them flee; 

“Though we are to pray for our enemies, we are to pray AGAINST God’s enemies, against their hatred to Him and against all their attempts against His Kingdom” (emphases mine).

Accordingly, let us pray:

•          For God’s Mercy, that He will Arise to defend His Name and His Kingdom;
•          That His enemies in the White House and Congress will be CONFOUNDED;
•          That His Mercy will bring about Godly Sorrow, Repentance, and Salvation;
•          That His true Church will also Repent, Awaken and Act before it’s too late (“action” can take many forms including PRAYER).

Please understand the GRAVITY of the situation and pass this on to your own contacts.

The Obama Administration is practicing “soft tyranny”! Through coercing and intimidating people and organizations, it is determined to impose its internationalist and socialist agenda on everyone and everything.

The next and most serious coercion will be “Silencing Dissent”. Its primary targets are Talk Radio AND the INTERNET! Yes, the Internet! As in Communist China, plans are underway to stop/influence/punish anyone who disagrees with the President (remember the Tea Parties were hatched over the Internet!)

I remember World War II; the Gestapo/the Brownshirts/the KGB/Fidel/the Stasi in E. Germany/and currently Hugo Chavez, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Taliban, etc.

If DISSENT is curtailed, our God-given governmental system will be finished, for good!

After pondering the Scriptures for many years, it is my conclusion that all the distresses we have been documenting for many months are the result of one thing:

WE HAVE REJECTED GOD! THEREFORE, WE NO LONGER ARE BEING BLESSED; WE ARE BEING CURSED, AS HE PROMISED (see Dt 28:15 below).

We are being ruled by a President and a culture which:

HATE LIFE: All those who hate Me love death. (Prov 8:36b)

CRAVE POWER: The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD (Ps 2:1-2a)

HATE TRUTH: They will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (2Tim 4:4) [and see Rom 1:25] 

HATE AMERICA: “If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?” Ps 11:3 

Their sinful minds are hostile to God. (Rom 8:7a); The wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to slay him. (Ps 37:32); Why do wicked people renounce God? They say in their hearts, ‘God will not require an account.’ (Ps 10:13 paraphrase)

The distressing issues about which we have been warning you recently are simply symptoms of one major, overarching, fundamental cause – as stated above, we have rejected the God of the Bible. This is the basisof all our problems, which can never be rectified until we return to Him and His Ways. It can only get worse! 

Before you dismiss all the above, please consider Matthew Henry’s (1662-1714) comments on Ps 127:1a:

“If the foundations be laid in oppression (tyranny) and injustice, God certainly does not build there; If God is not acknowledged, we have no reason to expect His Blessing, and without His Blessing all is for naught.” (emphases mine) 

Brethren, AWAKE! God seems to have turned us over to unscrupulous pagans who hate Him. (Rom 1:24f)

As Daniel notes in his wonderful prayer (see Ch 9), all these “distresses” are coming upon us because we have rebelled against the Lord and turned away from Him and His ways! 

 “And the children of Israel cried out to the LORD, saying, ‘We have sinned against You, because we have both forsaken our God and served the Baals!’” Judg 10:10

100 Days of SHAME!

“O Lord, to us belongs SHAME of face, to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.” (Dan 9:8)

“Then I would not be ASHAMED,

“Let the proud be ASHAMED” (Ps 119:78a)

While much of the country “celebrates” the anniversary of President Obama’s first 100 days, Christians should be hanging our heads in SHAME!

Question:

“What do we have to be ‘ashamed’ of?  We personally have not done all this wickedness.  The President and his administration are caring out this EVIL, not us!”

Answer:

As members of the American family we are guilty of participating in the election of a narcissistic, slick and wicked man to be our leader.  As Christians we voted for him, helped him and cheered him on.  SHAME on us!  We are members of a nation which is increasingly hostile to God and His Ways.

Also, today we stand by silently and passively watching this image and ego-obsessed man, his appointees and Congress dismantle and destroy the foundations of this precious country which the God of the Bible gave us. 

Question:

 “So, what can we do about it?”

Answer:

As Americans and Christians we can be very, very ASHAMED.  As Christians we can REPENT and stand up for Truth, Righteousness and Justice; and we can Pray! 

“Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?

Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” Ps 94:16

Please join me in PRAYER:

“Lord, we are ASHAMED that we have gone so far astray.  We have rebelled.  Please give us the gift of godly sorrow and REPENTANCE (2 Cor 7:10).  Open our eyes, please. 

“Also, Lord, please interrupt and terminate any and all plans our government has which defy You and Your Ways. 

“Save us, Lord!”

Hostility toward God is evident in our culture.  Our nation is ruled by people, and by a culture, that hates and rejects the God of the Bible. 

They HATE LIFE: All those who hate Me love death. (Prov 8:36b)

They desire POWER: The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD (Ps 2:1-2a)

They HATE TRUTH: They will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (2Tim 4:4) [and see Rom 1:25]

The “Hostile Takeover” of America

Dear Pray-ers:

This week we will be sending out Part I of our new series: “The ‘Hostile Takeover’ of America”. Part I concentrates on Government as savior/Obama as savior/TYRANNY.

It is of PARAMOUNT importance that we remain vigilant and informed. Too often, our reaction to the upsetting news flowing out of Washington is to turn away, to become overwhelmed, or to feel helpless. As scripture exhorts us, “let us not grow weary while doing good”; let us continue to PRAY! 

We must pray for our NATION; for our LEADERS (especially, that they will come to the knowledge of the Truth, and be saved!); for REVIVAL in our land; and PRAY for WISDOM about how to respond.

Also, we want to draw your attention to some opportunities to RESIST what is happening in our government:

“The ‘Tax Day Tea Party’ is nationally sponsored by Top Conservatives’”¹.   On April 15^th, all across our nation, concerned citizens are gathering together to protest against ‘big government’ and ‘complete disregard for taxpayers’². Consider joining together to let politicians ‘know we are not happy and want a change of course’.

Therefore, I implore you to read and consider the materials we will be sharing with you. The articles and columns will illuminate what is often overlooked or suppressed in the mainstream media.  As we shared in the series introduction, the underlining cause of all of this is Hostility toward God. Our nation is ruled by people, and by a culture, that hates and rejects the God of the Bible. 

Finally, as we have just celebrated the triumphant resurrection of our Lord and Savior, may we stand amazed at God’s Love and Mercy and be undone before Him, and may our hearts be broken for those who have not been reached by the Glorious Good News of the Cross!
